EMLI Mesa Road Community Center

The EMLI Mesa Road Community Center will serve as a hub for engagement, education, workforce development, and wellness. 

 

The center will offer programs designed to strengthen families, empower individuals, and improve neighborhood outcomes, including:

GEHCRC is committed to developing projects that serve as models of sustainability and energy efficiency while maintaining high design standards.

 

Our developments are designed to stimulate economic growth, encourage private investment, and expand access to affordable housing opportunities for residents of East Houston.

Community Impact

GEHCRC has successfully completed numerous community improvement projects, including:

​

  • Partnering with the local food bank to distribute food and emergency assistance during times of crisis.

  • Collaborating with Trees For Houston to plant 150 trees along the Mesa Road corridor in NE Houston.

  • GEHCRC gave away 2000 fruit trees in 2026 in collaboration with Trees for Houston.

  • Implementing public art and mural projects on neighborhood electrical utility boxes.

  • Supporting community beautification and neighborhood revitalization efforts throughout Greater East Houston.

Workforce Development Partnership

GEHCRC has partnered with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to provide professional development and employment training opportunities for individuals who are:

  • Re-entering the workforce

  • Living with disabilities

  • Seeking career advancement and job readiness support

GEHCRC supports employers by providing:

  • Candidate pre-screening and testing

  • Job fair coordination

GEHCRC is a certified provider for the TWC Reentry and Vocational RehabProgram.

Revitalization Initiatives

Along the Mesa Road and McCarty Road corridor in East Houston, GEHCRC is developing a sustainable green space designed to benefit both people and the environment.

 

This transformative project will create a welcoming gateway to Northeast Houston while providing long-term ecological, economic, and social benefits.

By enhancing the visual appeal of the corridor and investing in community-centered development, we aim to inspire neighborhood pride, improve public spaces, and elevate the quality of life for local residents.
